Zero Motorcycles

project overview

Zero Motorcycles was ready for a digital refresh. The old website was several years old, riddled with tech debt, and had an overall look that no longer matched the direction of the growing brand. With the launch of brand new models, evolving marketing strategies, and a push to better reflect their position as a premium, industry-leading electric motorcycle company, it was time for a change.

Zero Motorcycles

Zero Motorcycles’ existing website was built with Gatsby and Prismic, but its aging stack had become increasingly difficult to maintain. Build times could reach 20 minutes, failures were common, and major launches carried unnecessary risk. I helped lead the migration to Next.js, defining the project scope, roadmap, and deployment timeline before partnering with Zero’s digital marketing team and Canvas Creative throughout design and development. The new architecture gave us greater control over server-side rendering and incremental static regeneration, while preserving valuable parts of the existing platform and rebuilding core components for greater flexibility and reuse. The redesign introduced a new homepage, model pages, navigation system, comparison experience, and an SEO-focused Ride Electric section. I coordinated bi-weekly development standups, managed risks and blockers, and shared implementation work with two agency developers. The completed site reduced average build times by 80%, strengthened brand consistency through a more reusable component system, and earned recognition from both Awwwards and CSS Design Awards. It remains in active use, with new pages, sections, and features continuing to be added.
